Vegetable sauce on top of the hamburg steak for kids! ↓

In this video, I’m showing 3 tips to achieve perfectly tender Japanese hamburg steak.
If you follow my step by step tutorial, everyone can make moist & tender Japanese hamburg steak which will certainly impress your family and guests!

<JAPANESE HAMBURG STEAK/ ハンバーグ>
<Yield> 4 servings
<Prep time> 10 mins
<Cook time> 10 mins (+ steaming for 10mins)
<Ingredients>
chopped onion 2 cups / 200g
minced pork 200g / 7.0oz
minced beef 300g / 10.5oz
1 tsp of grated garlic
3 tbsp of panko
1 egg
¼ cup of milk
1 ½ tsp of salt
1 tsp of black pepper
4 tbsp of olive oil
sauce ( for 4 serving)
½ cup of red wine
4 tbsp of ketchup
3 tbsp of tonkatsu sauce without MSG
1 tbsp of soy sauce
<Optional toppings>
leafy greens
tomato
Lemon
corn
<Directions>
1: Chop onion finely. In a large bowl, add minced pork and beef. Then in goes 1 ½ tsp of salt, 3 tbsp of panko, ¼ cup of milk, 1 tsp of grated garlic, 1 egg, and freshly crushed black pepper. Lastly add chopped onion.
2: Mix them until all the ingredients come together and reach sticky kind of consistency.Grease your hand with olive oil. Scoop ¼ potion of mixture and mold into round circular shape. Make the surface smooth by stroking it gently to seal the juice inside.
3;Heat the olive oil in a pan over mid heat. Gently place your patty. Let them cook for about 4mins over small heat. Flip them and pop the lid on. Continue to cook for another 6mins over the small heat. After 6 mins, off the heat, then steam them for another 10mins with the lid on.
4: After 10mins, open the lid and transfer the hamburg steak onto the plate. Wipe off half of the remaining oil in a pan. Add red wine and cook it with the mid heat as scraping off the burn bits with your spatula. Then add tomato ketchup, tonkatsu sauce and soy sauce
Thicken the sauce to your liking. Drizzle over the hamburg steak and ready to be enjoyed!

・Do not mix patty with hand. Use spoon to mix it.
・Grease your palm with olive oil before you touch the meat when you mold the shape.
・If you have a crack on the surface of patty, the juice of meat will flow out from the crack when you grill it.
・By steaming the hamburg steak, it can be gradually cooked and reaches tender hamburg steak.
